Bronze helmet used in Ancient Greek warfare, with green patina and encrustation. Hammered from a single sheet of Bronze. Two parallel raised ridges on top, with evenly spaced rivets around the square face, and a flared rim in the back. The Illyrian helmet is named after the Greek city-state of Illyria, which was an area located in the western region of the Balkan Peninsula. Rare and very important piece.
