Ushabtis are ancient Egyptian tomb figurines usually made out of stones, faience and terracotta (clay). Often called "Servants of the Afterlife", it was a common funerary practice to place Ushabtis in the tomb of the mummy. They were intended to be servants that would magically come to life and do any chore the mummy might be called upon to perform in the afterlife.
