Wooden Ushabti box used to hold Ushabtis, with painted images including: Anubis, the jackal-headed patron god of embalming who accompanied the dead to the hereafter, leading a Ruler before Osiris, god of the underworld and afterlife, seated on a throne with gods and goddesses behind him including: Isis, protective goddess who used magic spells to help people in need, the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus; Nephthys, protective goddess of the dead; Horus, the falcon-headed Egyptian sky god and Hathor, goddess of joy, motherhood, and love; A musician plays a harp before Ra, the sun god, who is seated on a throne with two Eyes of Horus, the Egyptian symbol of protection, above; Rulers in a battle scene with hieroglyphs, a falcon and Horus Behdety, a symbol of protection, above; Queen Nefertari playing Senet with a Ba bird in the center and a Queen paying homage on the right. A removable lid with images of a Ruler with green skin kneeling and holding offerings and a Queen kneeling and holding lotus stems, hieroglyphs and cartouches in the background. Colors include black, orange, green and blue. Very rare. Dark patina. 26th Dynasty.
